Paying your affiliates

The funds leave your own accounts, and we check that they arrived

The PayPal and Wise accounts stay yours. You give us the right to trigger a transfer in your name, and nothing more: the funds go straight from your account to your affiliate's. They never pass through us.

  • Build, approve, send. Three separate steps, so somebody always signs off before funds leave. You can set an amount above which your approval is required.
  • Nobody is forgotten. An affiliate who has not said where they want to be paid, or who is under the minimum, appears in a separate list with the reason. They get an email, once.
  • Everyone is paid in their own currency. Money leaves in the one it was earned in: we convert nothing on your behalf.
  • You choose the rhythm. Weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly, on your own country's clock.
  • If a customer gets refunded after the payout, the affiliate owes you the commission already paid. You choose: we hold it back from their next commissions, or we write it off.
  • You can also pay manually. You make the transfer yourself and tell Meritt: the commissions are settled and the invoice is produced anyway.

An accepted transfer is not a transfer that arrived

When you send a transfer, PayPal answers "accepted" in two seconds. That does not mean the funds arrived. If the address matches no PayPal account, the payment waits thirty days, and then the funds come back to you. Many platforms stop at the first answer and let you believe the affiliate was paid.

Built 12 lines Approved by you Sent "accepted" polled every hour Arrived The invoice stands, the line is settled. Returned Balance restored, sales back to payable, numbered credit note, both sides told.
Meritt asks PayPal again every hour until a final answer. If the funds come back, you are told, the affiliate's balance is restored, and a credit note cancels the invoice.

The invoices

The invoice leaves with the funds, not three months later

On your side, the commission is an expense to deduct. On theirs, it is income to declare. Neither of you can prove it with a line on somebody else's screen. So Meritt writes the document at the moment the funds leave.

  • You draw up the invoice for them. That is called self-billing: the invoice is in the affiliate's name and addressed to you. One condition, the same everywhere: they must have agreed beforehand, and they agree from their own area.
  • Otherwise they get a receipt. Same figures, but nothing is declared in their name.
  • The numbers run without gaps, year by year. An invoice is never deleted: if a transfer comes back, Meritt issues a credit note that cancels it and names it.
  • Electronic invoicing. Alongside the PDF, a file machines can read — CII format, EN 16931. That is the one the new obligations ask for.
  • VAT is calculated according to the affiliate's country, and whether they are an individual or a business.
  • A summary over any period you want. For you across all your affiliates, and for each affiliate on themselves.
  • Your logo on the documents. On white label, ours disappears completely.
