Meritt Get started

A Tapfiliate alternative with no overage fees

Tapfiliate meters clicks. It is the only one of the five that does, and it is the one whose bill can climb without a single sale — an affiliate with a big audience and few conversions still costs you money.

What you pay, on each side

Tapfiliate is the only platform compared here that bills traffic. Not sales: clicks. And when the quota runs out, the difference is not blocked — it is invoiced.

The entry plan is $89, which is $40 more than Rewardful's or FirstPromoter's, and $40 more than Meritt's Pro plan, which has no quota at all.

A click is not a sale

Metering clicks means billing something you do not control and do not necessarily earn from. An affiliate with a large audience and poor conversion — an account with three hundred thousand followers whose audience does not buy — costs you money in clicks and returns nothing. That is precisely the affiliate whose potential you want to test, and the pricing model charges you for the test.

Bot traffic creates the same problem from the other direction. An affiliate link published on the open web gets visited by indexers, messaging-app link previewers and security scanners. Whatever is not filtered out lands in your quota.

  • 5,000 clicks a month on the Launch plan. One article that works through them in a week.
  • 50 affiliates. This is the real wall on the entry plan: a program that recruits properly passes it in its first quarter.
  • $1.50 per thousand clicks beyond, and $15 per thousand conversions. Going over on conversions therefore costs ten times what going over on clicks does.
  • At Meritt none of those three numbers is counted. Tracking is the part that costs us almost nothing; billing it would be billing air.

What Tapfiliate does better

Tapfiliate's affiliate portal is translated into more languages than ours, and translated properly. If your affiliates are spread across many countries and you care that each one reads their numbers in their own language, that is a genuine advantage today — we are at four languages.

They also offer a free trial on every plan, which remains the most honest way to let someone form their own opinion. We do the equivalent differently: the starter plan is free until your first commission, with no time limit and no card.

Moving from Tapfiliate to Meritt

The automatic import from Tapfiliate is not written yet. One platform imports file-to-file today; Tapfiliate is listed in the product as coming, with a button to tell us it is yours.

When it lands, the import brings across your affiliates with their original codes, your clicks and your sales, and shows you the count before anything is written: how many affiliates, how many sales, how much is still owed on the old platform. You choose whether to carry the balances over or start from zero after settling with them. No email goes to your affiliates during the operation.

Until then, the most useful thing is to run Meritt's tracking alongside yours. It is free until the first commission and installs on your own domain, so you are comparing two counts on the same real links rather than comparing a promise.

Tracking is free until your first commission, your own domain included. You will know whether the links get through before you pay anything.
