In short

A SaaS sells a subscription: the commission has to follow every renewal, and the free trial must not lose the affiliate on the way. Meritt ties the visitor to their signup, the customer to their first invoice, then pays the affiliate on every renewal, recurring, lifetime or limited.

Recurring commissions

A recurring plan pays the affiliate on every renewal; a lifetime plan, as long as the customer pays; a limited plan, for the number of months you set.
On Stripe, every renewal invoice.paid is tied to the customer, not to the cookie: it follows the customer on every device.
A refund or a dispute takes back the matching share of commission, through an added entry.

Free trials and signups

When the visitor creates their account, a call to /v1/identify ties their customer id to the click that brought them.
When the trial converts, days or weeks later, the sale goes to that affiliate.
The affiliate's link is served from your own domain, where ad blockers do not look.

Your billing, as it is

Stripe connects in one click: Checkout, Payment Links, Buy Button and subscriptions.
Chargebee, Recurly, Braintree, Mollie and Razorpay report their sales through the API, in three calls.
Automatic payouts through PayPal and Wise, and payouts by SEPA or SWIFT transfer, Skrill, Revolut or crypto, with the invoice.

Questions

How do I keep the affiliate through a free trial?

By calling /v1/identify at signup: the customer is tied to the click, and the first paid invoice goes to them, however long it takes.

Do discount codes count?

Yes: the discount code entered on Stripe credits the affiliate, even with no click.

Can I cap the commission at twelve months?

Yes: a limited plan pays for the number of months you set.

What does Meritt cost for a growing SaaS?

The same flat price: $0, $49 or $99 a month, never a percentage of recurring revenue.
