Affiliate program for Shopify

When it is paid: orders/paid creates the commission.

You give your store's .myshopify.com address, authorise Meritt at Shopify, and come back connected: we set up the three webhooks.

What Meritt reads

orders/paid: the paid order, which is what creates the commission — never an order that was only created.
refunds/create: a refund takes back all or part of the commission.
orders/cancelled: an order cancelled without a refund takes it back too.
The discount code used, which is enough to credit an affiliate with no click.
The click the app embed puts on the cart, valid for 90 days.

The tag is an app embed: it turns on with one switch, without touching the theme.

Under Payment system, enter your .myshopify.com domain.
Authorise Meritt at Shopify: order paid, refund and cancellation are declared when you come back.
In the theme editor, turn on “Meritt affiliate tracking” under App embeds, and save.
Assign each affiliate their discount code, if they have one.

Which permissions does Meritt ask for?

Reading orders, and access to discounts for discount codes. Nothing about your products or customers beyond the order.

When it is paid: orders/paid creates the commission.

What if I change theme?

The tag belongs to the app, not the theme: it survives the change.

Does link tracking need an install?

No. The app proxy our app declares serves your links on your domain, under /apps/.
